About Us

Friends of Mission Bend Branch Library (FOLMB) is a Texas-based nonprofit corporation with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status founded in 2024. FOLMB was formed to support the Mission Bend Branch Library (MBBL) and Fort Bend County Libraries (FBCL), and to promote equitable access to literacy, learning, and community engagement throughout Fort Bend County.

FOLMB has made tangible contributions to the FBCL and the local community. Over the past year, FOLMB has:

• Donated over $600 to the branch to support public programs and librarian needs,
• Held three book sales to raise funds for FBCL and promote community engagement,
• Delivered 38 bags of free books (approximately 25 books per bag) to local childcare centers in the Mission Bend and contiguous areas to support FBCL's 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program,
• Advocated for the system wide support of the FBCL budget request by communicating our support of the 2026 budget request with the Precinct 4 Commissioner Dexter McCoy.
• Provided lunch for the Library staff to begin the 2025 Summer Reading program.
• Partnered with local businesses to support initiatives.
• Developed EL3, Empowering Our Legacy, a three-year strategic plan that will enable FOLMB to achieve long-term sustainability, significantly contribute to FBCL, and affect a greater impact within Fort Bend County.
• Co-hosted Spirit Day 2025 with AYG Food Services to raise funds for FBCL and support Mission Bend schools.

Vision

To support the Mission Bend Branch Library and Fort Bend County Library (FBCL) system in its efforts to provide facilities and programs that help patrons achieve and exceed their vocational and career goals, discover their life's purpose, navigate life's challenges, and make a positive impact on the world.
