Public libraries are one of the last places where people can enter, gain knowledge, have fun, explore new ideas, bring their children, and get a respite from a busy world without paying a fee or purchasing anything. FOLMB advocates for the library to ensure it remains open and ready to address the needs of the patrons today and in the future.
We organize and conduct events such as Spirit Day and book sales, and seek out grants to raise funds for the library. Those funds are used to supplement the funding received from Fort Bend County.
Note - 100% of the books we resell are donated from the public. Click here to view what we need for book sale.
We organize and host community events to bring people together, create a supportive environment for everyone, and provide opportunities for patrons to have fun while expanding their professional and personal networks.
We utilize in-person and social media to inform patrons about the programs and other offerings available at the branch, promoting equitable access to literacy, learning, and community engagement throughout Fort Bend County.
We offer a variety of opportunities to get involved and give back to your community. Become a volunteer with Friends of Mission Bend Branch Library and make a difference in the lives of others.
We partner with local businesses for fundraising and event sponsorships. Our partnership with the library enables us to serve as a liaison between the business community and the library, thereby increasing opportunities for patrons.
