About Us
Who We Are
Friends of Mission Bend Branch Library (FOLMB) was founded by a group of patrons in 2023. FOLMB was incorporated and received its 501(c)(3) status in September of 2024. FOLMB is governed by Bylaws and strategically led by its Board of Directors (BOD). Officers implement the strategic direction of the BOD and take care of the daily operations. The branch is located in Precinct 4 of Fort Bend County, and primarily serves those who reside or have businesses in the 77083, 77407, and 77498 zip codes. FOLMB members meet quarterly at the branch.
Our mission is to empower literacy and community through support of the Mission Bend Branch, Fort Bend Libraries.
Our Vision
Our vision is to support the Fort Bend County Library system in its efforts to provide facilities and programs that help patrons meet and exceed their vocational and career goals, find their purpose in their lives, navigate life events, and change their world.
To accomplish our vision, we advocate for the library system, raise awareness about the programs provided at the branch, and conduct fundraising efforts.

Donations
Did you know that donations are the primary source of our books that we sell on our book wall and at our major sales events?
100% Donated
That's right! 100% of our books are donated by people just like you. We don't buy any of the books we sell. We rely on the kindness of our patrons to provide us with the materials.
We are looking for the following:
NEW and GENTLY USED Children's, Young Adult, and Adult books. This includes classics, current textbooks/reference books, softcover and hardcover fiction and nonfiction, graphic novels, current computer/tech books, and large print.
Please do NOT donate the following:
Hardcover books without dust covers
Books with excessively torn or ripped covers or pages
Textbooks/reference books that are more than five (5) years old
Computer/technical books that are more than three (3) years old
DVDs, CDs, or VHS tapes
Water damaged books
Books that are more than 50% highlighted or underlined
Puzzles or games
Used adult or children’s coloring books
Trash (yes, we sometimes get trash)

Collecting sneakers at the August back to school sale.
Do you have gently worn sneakers?
The Friends are collecting gently used sneakers to raise funds for the branch AND to reduce the amount of shoes that end up in the landfill. Bring them to the April sale and we will take them off your hands. Click the link below to read more about this fundraiser.
